Karen Mathew, O.D.

Dr. Karen Mathew is a board certified optometrist who combines her clinical knowledge with a compassionate approach to ensure each patient receives personalized eyecare. Her professional interests include comprehensive eye care along with management of several ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy,
corneal disease and cataract pre and post-op management. She also specializes in dry eye treatment and specialty contact lenses including scleral lenses for irregular corneas along with soft, toric and multifocal lenses.
She obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and her doctorate from the State University of New York College of Optometry. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Excellence in Optometry award for her clinical skills. She completed her training at various sites including NYU Langone Department of Ophthalmology and the Boston VA Medical Center.
She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association along with New York State Optometric Association.
